well, in some cases "ums" from the speaker, might be followed by "boos" from the audience... let's take high school, for example... those people, I mean students, I don't think they'd listen to this sort of speaker.

This study confuses two issues: 1) the emotional response to music with regular chords/melodies (ie "classical") vs that with "unexpected chords", whatever that is, (computer/electronic) and 2) Live music vs music played by a computer.

So would neo-romantic film music be more emotionally pleasing than a live orchestra playing Schoenberg or would electronic dance music be more satisfying that an atonal string quartet? *sigh*

Loud music has never been a problem - I have a few friends who like to listen to loud music in bars and they don't drink a lot - maybe a bottle of bear and that's all. Guess the study should also consider visiting more bars located in different locations worldwide.
