The Cheapest and Most Expensive Cities are in Asia

According to a survey carried out by The Economist magazine, the most expensive city is located in Asia. In their study of the cost of living, the magazine's experts found that the stronger yen made Tokyo the most expensive city in the world.

It is worth mentioning that in the list of the most expensive cities, Japan's capital surpassed Paris in France (3rd), Copenhagen in Denmark (4th) and Oslo in Norway (5th). The second most expensive city is Osaka, Japan.

However, The Economist found that other two Asian cities topped the list of the world's cheapest cities. These are Karachi in Pakistan, Mumbai and New Delhi in India, and Kathmandu in Nepal.

"Asia is home to many of the least expensive cities in the world, supplying five of the ten cheapest locations in the survey, four of which hail from the Indian subcontinent," informs The Economist.
