This is wild. When will this end? Where do we draw the line? Soon we'll be genetically modifying humans and having "designer children". Releasing these organisms into the environment is wrong. We've already done it on a mass scale with genetically modified foods. This needs to stop.

I believe that survival is an instinct, you either have it or you don't. No amount of training or preparatory thinking can make you react in any other way than that of your survival instincts, however I do believe you can condition what you already have.

Surviving implies adapting yourself to tough conditions, also a good reaction to them and an adequate behaviour too.That's why whining people, complaining about all, will NEVER be survivors. Besides, our world and our life is just a mirror reflecting our thoughts... and even feelings: once we say it is bad and complicated, it will be like this for sure. And viceversa. Once we think we can't handle it, we won't and once we think we'll survive something, there will be nothing standing in our way. Believing is enough.
