Building in Shape of an Old Chinese Coin to Appear in China in 2013

In about a year, those visiting the Pearl River in Guangzhou, China, will be able to witness the opening of the Guangdong Plastics Exchange research center/warehouse.

The most interesting thing is that the new 1 billion yuan ($159 million) structure will be designed in accordance with Cantonese traditions that are associated with luck and good fortune.

It would be really difficult not to notice a building in form of an old Chinese coin that stands 138 meters (453 feet) tall, and has a 47 meter (154 foot) diameter hole in its center.

According to chief project engineer Wang Zhanshan, the building will have good feng shui for attracting fortune.
