BYD Prepares 300 Electric Buses for 2011 International Universiade Games

BYD, one of China's most popular manufactures of vehicles, is going to launch more than 300 electric buses on the streets of Shenzhen.

It is for the first time that the company builds electric buses. The eBus-12 is a project that was initiated for this year's International Universiade Games.

Each bus boasts a range of 250 kilometers per charge and an effective recharging system that allows reaching 50 percent of charge in just half an hour.

After the vehicles are officially launched, they will become the world's largest fleet of electric buses.
