FLOAT Project - Create Your Own Kite to Map Air Quality

The community driven art project entitled FLOAT Beijing involves the manufacture and use of numerous kites. The latter are used to map and keep track of air quality in China's capital.

It is worth mentioning that air quality in urban areas in a serious problem that affects numerous industrialized cities around the world. Chinese government has been hiding the issue for a long period of time due to the fear of criticism and protests by the citizens.

FLOAT is a project that, trough a number of workshops, enables people to take the issue of air quality in their won hands, by developing inexpensive kites that include microcontroller technology to map air quality.
