Hana Mado is the name of Sony's latest invention that has been presented at the Eco Products 2010 exhibition. It would be interesting to note that the name Hana Mado means "Flower Window."

The invention not only looks beautiful but is in fact very useful. Technologically speaking it represents a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) which turns light into electricity.

The Japanese tech giant carried out a demonstration of its new device. The company attached a small fan to Hana Mado to illustrate how the device constantly produces power. When the light hit the device the fan span and when it was blocked the fan stopped spinning, reports Gizmag.

There are two main advantages of Sony's invention: the technology is cheaper than a solar cell and the device is very easily to install in a building. So far Sony did not reveal the concrete date when its latest invention will hit the market.
