Modern Bamboo Houses With Traditional Features for Haiti

Designers from St Val Architect came up with a quite appealing design concept of a housing project that was developed for Port au Prince, Haiti.

It seems that the designers were influenced by the traditional art of creating cocoon-shaped baskets that are made using natural plant fibers present in the local habitat.

The vertical positioning of the apartments in the structure saves a lot of space, thus having a rather small effect on the devastated lands.

In addition, most of the materials used to make the structures are locally available.
