Park System Uses Dog Poop to Power the Park

If you like this invention you can vote for it here. The designer Matthew Mazzotta thought about creating a park that has a special system able to turn dog poop into energy.

Entitled the Park Spark Project, Mazzotta's creation allows dog owners to use their favorite pets as instruments of providing power.

In order to generate electricity, a dog owner should collect the pet's poop in a special plastic bag and throw it right in the Park Spark Methane Digester, reports TreeHugger.

Afterwards the methane in the pop is brought to another location where power is obtained from burning it. The power is then used to illuminate the park at night.

It would be interesting to note that the methane digester makes use of a natural process of anaerobic decomposition, which involves the sealing of organic matter in an air-tight container to generate methane, with the latter being parted from the rest of the substance and used as power source.
