Share

An architectural company from Russia has unveiled plans to build a huge subterranean eco-friendly city.

The company plans to construct the city in a former Eastern Siberian mine that is about 550 meters deep.

The underground green city will be covered by a glass dome that will maintain constant temperature throughout the year.

In addition, the glass dome will include photovoltaic cells able to harness large amounts of solar power.

According to the firm's estimations, the project has the possibility to attract and accommodate up to 100,000 people.

The city will have a special residential level where people will be able to live and a number of other layers that could be used for vertical farms, forests and recreational areas.
