SolPix - Solar-Powered LED Display That Also Serves as a Solar Shield

If you like this invention you can vote for it here.Simone Giostra & Partners Architects came up with this SolPix display, which represents a combination of solar shielding and media wall. The blinds in SolPix feature built-in photovoltaics and LEDs.

To make the LED display work, the PV makes use of solar energy. The system within the giant display is able to monitor its own performance and illustrate it in moving graphics that play throughout the facade.

The display is one of the biggest and most impressive installations presented at the opening of Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum's Design Triennial. The theme chosen for this year is design that focuses on the most serious issues the world has to face today.

Simone Giostra & Partners Architects hope that their invention will be used by those who want to create structures that would not only look nice but would be eco-friendly as well.
