It is not only the media and designers that have brought this sad situation about, it is also the general public. To me there is little difference between skinny girls who aren't looking after their bodies and denying their health and those at the other end of the scale who are obese, neither really cares for themselves nor posesses personal pride. Bring back the days of Marilyn Munroes and the like where a womens figure was allowed to be full (but not fat) and curvaceous and maybe there will be a change in public attititude. This is the responsibility of the designers, they initiate the market trends for the masses (lets be fair no-one with any decorum wears some of the freak stuff from the catwalk in real life) and they too can sway the "way" women look and what is acceptable, maybe its just a power thing to be able to make someone want to starve themselves to death just to get a job modelling....very sad !!!!

This article is missing the fact that the quality of air is going to decline no matter what we do because the process is delayed-the effects of petroleum fuels will be ongoing even if we stop using them today. What the switch to biodiesel would do is lessen the harmful effects that we will see in 2020.

The Guinness Book is absolutely right!!!! It's absurd to risk your life and health in such a way!!! Such experiments should be vorbidden. I think it's not necessary to stay awake for 11 days to prove that your brain stops functioning in a proper way. We all know that sleep is necessary as it helps to regain strength and imrove mental processes in our brain. The guy just spoilt his health...
