Moisturizer Containing Viagra Could Treat Cellulite

Scientists proposed creating the ultimate "dream cream" - moisturizer with Viagra being its main ingredient. It is worth noting that the mix of a lubricant and the popular medicine against erectile dysfunction is not developed to serve as a sex aid.

The moisturizer containing the drug sildenafil (sold under Viagra brand name) was developed for women as a way of treating cellulite.

According to Croatian researchers, a moisturizer mixed with Viagra could create a revolutionary moisturizer that in its turn will open a brand new market.

Underneath the skin surface there's a layer of fatty tissue. This tissue is thicker in women with cellulite and, along with a layer of collagen found beneath the skin, is the cause of the so-called "orange peel" dimpling pattern.

Karmela Altabas and her team from the University Hospital "Sisters of Charity" in Zagreb, says that Viagra includes enzyme inhibitors, such as sildenafil, which proved to break down fat in test tubes. This is why it could be effective in breaking down fat found beneath the skin.

In addition, due to the fact that the popular drug boosts blood flow, if included into a moisturizer, the final solution will break down fat and then whisk it away.

Till now the Viagra cream is just an idea and a lot of studies from pharmaceutical companies will be needed to prove its efficiency if they will become interested in the new product.
