I drank approx 2 oz of sugar free Red Bull and took one no doze so I didn't get tired working a 12 hour night shift. BIG MISTAKE!!! I had dry heeves and my heart rate was in the150's and my blood pressure was critical (188/110). My hands felt tingly. Thank God I worked at a hospital!! So I went to the ER and they did an ekg which showed some s-t depression (signs of ischemia) My electrolytes were abnormal also. That stuff should be banned in every country.

i drink red bull every day for the past 2 months. this news is ver y alarming but also questionable. id have to drink it then do a test prolly then i'll believe that it is dangerous. if it is so dangerous then why is it in like every store. and for idiots that drink 8 a day are really looking to end there life maybe they think its a better way to commit suicide? idk. but until i do that test i'll keep drinkin redbull. unlike the people who drink it i'll have wings! - rashid slater.

This is ridiculous!! giving antidepressants to small children... and babies... there are so many complications that can arise from this... and what kind of nervous system will these kids have when they grow old??? i am against antidepressants in adults, because all they do is fight with the so-called "symptoms" and just for a short time... the main cause is the one to be changed here, not its consequences - that is the way of thinking of people in depression, their way of living and so on... if you don't change this, you'll have to take pills all your life and they won't help you... but most of all, giving them to babies and children... i totally disagree with it...

chsorioles2008. I guess we should tell the 1 yr old who is wheezing and knows he has respiratory problems to find another home if he doesn't like being in the same room that his mother/father smokes in that way he could avoid the dangers of ETS....IGNORANCE kills too sweetie!

I am honestly sorry that this happened but i dont think that smoking should be banned in public places. It goes against personal rights. Most workers usually know when they have health problems and if they think that they are going to be affected by their work environment they need to find a different job that suits them better. I do however think that smoking and non smoking sections of places like restaurants should be better separated. and also if they were to ban smoking in public places...I'm pretty sure people can wait to have a cigarette until they get home or in their car. or go smoke outside. it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

STEVE, I completely agree with you... although I don't think that all the students consume EDs only because they "study at night".. I think most of them just have to party all night and then they have to be in good shape for the classes... However, I'm sure many students try to combine partying and studying, so that they don't fall out with the lectures and still get some private life during the golden college years.
I drink EDs, but very very and extremely seldom, only when I really need to wake up... and I need this especially after lunch, you know, when the food hits you like a hammer, and you just need to get a nap :)

I've never drank an energy drink and hope never will. It has been known for a while that these drinks are not really healthy, but at least people feel pretty much in shape after consuming them. However, I don't think that some students have an alternative for energy drinks, they have to study a lot and that's why they have to spend nights studying without falling asleep. So, these drinks are unhealthy but they still help people, at least scientists who warn about the impact of energy drinks on health have to find some alternatives, until then people will continue consuming these drinks.
