About 20 Hours of Video Uploaded to YouTube Every Minute

In one of its recent posts the Google-owned YouTube wrote that every minute the website's users upload about 20 hours of video. This figure is more than 3 times larger than the one registered by YouTube in 2007, when about 6 hours of video were uploaded every minute.

According to YouTube, this January its popularity grew with 15 hours of video being uploaded every minute, an equivalent of 86,000 new full-length movies. Now the website reached a new record.

"Let's see if we can get to 24 hours - a full day's worth of video uploaded every minute," wrote Ryan Junee, a YouTube product manager.

It is worth mentioning that the number one search engine, Google, acquired YouTube for $1.65 billion in 2006 and up till now it did not manage to turn a profit, even though the website gained huge popularity worldwide.
