Android 4.0-Powered Smart TV Box

The Japanese telecommunication company KDDI has recently announced a cable TV set top box powered by Android 4.0.

Developed by Panasonic, the Smart TV Box boasts a customized interface and home screen. It can be easily controlled using the buttons or touch pad of the remote control.

The Japanese telecommunication corporation also looks forward to including relevant service applications like online supermarket, for instance.

It would be interesting to note that the Smart TV Box has a dual-chip for Android and TV applications, 3 USB ports, an SD card slot, and a Wi-Fi access point. For recording the user can also connect an external hard drive.
