Finally, the moment a lot of gadget geeks have been waiting for - Steve Jobs presented the Apple's iPad. The presentation of the tablet took place in San Francisco, where Jobs talked about some of the most interesting features of the new device.

The iPad is considered by some a device that could push the browsing and gaming to a new level. It fills the gap between smartphones and netbooks with its 9.7-inch LED IPS multitouch display that has a resolution of 1024x768.

The iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weights 1.5 pounds. Its heart is the 1GHz Apple-built A4 processor.

But it is more than just a gaming and browsing device - the iPad allows you to watch movies, listen to music and more. Apple's tablet features an orientation sensor, which, just like in iPod Touch and iPhone, allows turning the device from landscape to portrait mode and vice versa.

One of the eco-friendly features of the device is its rechargeable Lithium-polymer battery that can hold up to 10 hours. The battery can be recharged up to 1,000 times. At the same time it keeps about 80 percent of its original charge capacity throughout the 5-year lifespan. In standby mode the battery can hold for a whole month.

Some of the default applications in the tablet include: Safari browser, mail, photos, iPod, calendar, maps, YouTube and App Store.

The tablet will come with different flash storage, ranging from 16GB to 64GB. There will also be models with and without 3G. The price will range between $499 and $829. The iPad will be available by June 2010 in the United States.

A few accessories have been developed for the tablet, including the iPad dock, iPad keyboard dock and iPad case that protects the device and which can be used in different positions, informs Apple Insider.
