Artists Create Obelisk from 340 Bicycles

Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector are the two artists from California that recently managed to erect an obelisk composed of nothing but bicycles.

Called Cyclist, the structure can be found on a street in Santo Rosa. It represents an ode to bike culture and its constitution features 340 bicycles and one tricycle.

Weighting 10,000 pounds and being 65 foot-tall, the sculpture was made with the help of Nissan. The reason is that the Japanese carmaker is building a dealership in the city and it decided to finance the project, donating for the artwork.
