Battery That Generates Power from Noise

Devices that harness solar, wind or water energy are not something new. Scientists from the University of Michigan decided to invent a battery that would produce energy from noise and vibrations.

The battery will be able to collect power even from small vibrations like the ones produced when a person walks up the stairs or is moving in a car. Power will be generated from street noise as well. Due to the fact that the generator is not bind to produce power at a particular frequency, the invention will have the possibility to harvest vibrations from a wide range of sources.

The device will surely not allow you to power your house or electric car, but it will be able to harness vibrations and noise to produce electricity for such small gadgets like watches and pacemakers.
