Iran Presents Its Humanoid Robot Called Soorena-2

Iran has recently presented its humanoid robot entitled Soorena-2. The name comes from the ancient Persian warrior.

It is worth mentioning that the first humanoid robot in the Middle East was officially presented by the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

According to the report, the robot is 1.45 meters (4.7 feet) tall and its weight is about 45 kilograms (99 pounds), informs News.com.au.

The report also mentioned that Soorena-2 walks similar to the humans, being able to move its legs and arms. Such machines are created to help people perform difficult tasks, the report said.

There has currently been no information regarding the capabilities of the robot. It would be worth mentioning that over the last few years Iran has been developing different projects linked with cloning, stem cell research and satellite technology.
