Japan Working on Maglev Train that Can Reach 310MPH

High-speed rail has been the subject of non-stop competition between China and Japan. Recently the Central Japan Railway Company stated that it looks forward to build the fastest train on the planet.

The train will travel from Tokyo to Nagoya, being able to reach a top speed of 310 miles per hour. The project will cost $64 billion. It is worth mentioning that the project is expected to be launched in 2027.

By running on magnetic levitation, the train will reduce friction, thus reducing the travel time between the two cities, which today is an hour and a half, to 40 minutes, reports New York Times.
