Laser Tag Given Second Life with Augmented Reality


Laser tag, a popular kind of sport among geeks and not only, has become obsolete. However, recently the technology was mixed with augmented reality that gave it a second life.

Using your smartphone and the AppTag, the user is offered a first person shooter for the real world. Thus one can use their handset (be it powered by iOS or Android) to play laser tag with opponents.

It would also be interesting to note that the free AppTag app is used together with a cool laser blaster smartphone gun cradle. The latter makes use of a focused infrared beam and sensor so player could interact with each other.
