Latest Invention: 3D Smartphone from LG

One of the largest Korean tech companies LG plans to launch the world's first 3D smartphone. The company hopes to present its latest invention at Mobile World Congress 2011 that will take place this month in Barcelona, Spain.

Dubbed LG Optimus 3D, the device will include a glasses-free LCD panel along with a dual-lens camera that will be able to capture three-dimensional images and videos.

In addition, the new smartphone will boast 3D-capable HDMI 1.4 and DLNA connectivity options that will allow sharing 3D content.

So far no specs were offered on the device, but LG plans to reveal additional information at a special press event that will take place on February 14 at Mobile World Congress, reports Gizmag.
