Latest Invention: Batteries that Allow Mobile Phones to Run for Months

A group of researchers from the Illinois University are working on the creation of a new battery that would be 100 times more powerful than the batteries used today.

The battery could be used to power mobile phones, with the latter being able to run for months.

Their latest invention will make use of nanotubes that will replace metal wiring. It is worth mentioning that nanotubes represent carbon tubes that are 10,000 times smaller than a human hair.

According to members of the researcher team, led by Eric Pop of Illinois University's Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, nanotubes are the batteries' "main ingredient" that allows them to last much longer than traditional batteries, reports EconomicTimes.

When developed, the invention could revolutionize the market of mobile phones.
