Latest Invention: Hitachi's Humanoid Robot on Wheels

If you like this invention you can vote for it here.Hitachi recently presented its latest invention in the field of robotics - a humanoid that can serve as a security guard, a tour guide or a receptionist.

The tech giant named its latest invention EMIEW2. It is worth mentioning that the robot features complicated spring-loaded shock absorbers in its legs. These shock absorbers allow the machine to move around with ease even if there are bumps and wires on the floor.

The robot has two wheels mounted on its legs. Using these wheels the machine is able to move at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour.

The EMIEW2 is 80cm high and weights 14 kilograms. Its helmet features 14 microphones which the robot uses to register voices or music, reports ChinaPost.

According to Yuji Hosoda, chief researcher at the company's transportation systems department, Hitachi's latest invention may lead to a "new form of surveillance."
