Latest Invention: LED Lamp that Works Only When Perfectly Balanced


This nice-looking wooden LED lamp was created by Mieke Meijer. It can be used as a floor or table lamp and it only works when it's perfectly balanced.

The construction of the lamp is rather simple. There's a wooden rood equipped with a LED light source. The rood balances in a T formation across another rood that stands upright and an electrical wire runs between the two.

There's a strip of brass that runs along the rods and when they touch, they complete a circuit thus leading to the activation of the LEDs.

To turn the lamp on simply slide the horizontal rod to the necessary position, and to switched it off you need to rotate the horizontal rod, or simply remove the rod and put it aside.
