Latest Invention: Satechi BT Media Remote - Control Your iPhone, iPad, Mac Remotely

Share

Satechi, company that makes mobile accessories, has recently unveiled the BT Media Remote that works with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Satechi's device uses Bluetooth to make it possible for its BT Media Remote to play, pause, skip, rewind, mute and adjust the volume on the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. In addition, the device can use to take photos from your device remotely.

The device relies on Human Interface Device (HID) Bluetooth profile, like the Wiimotes. This offers a low latency connection with low power requirements. Two CR-2025 coin batteries are enough to power the remote for up to 6 months.

The remote can be used to wirelessly control iOS devices in cases when they are connected to a TV, docking station or car stereo. It works from distance of up to 33 ft (10 m).

Because the device uses Bluetooth connection, it works with Macs, which means that you can use it to control Keynote presentations on such devices as a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook, or Mac Mini.

The Satechi BT Media Remote wears a price tag of $39.99.
