Latest Invention: Speakers that Produce Sound via Glass

Its first appearance the company called Greensound Technology made this year at IFA, where visitors where able to observe Luno speakers from the Serac series along with Cube subwoofer.

The most interesting thing is that all of the company's speakers are made from glass, including Luno. These speakers not only look nice but actually vibrate to generate sound waves. The latter are projected from both sides in order to bring 360 degree sound.

The floor standing speakers are quite compact, in fact they are the most compact speakers developed by Greensound so far. They are 106.7 cm (42 in) tall, having a base that measures 45.7 cm (18 in) wide and 45.7 cm deep. The speakers weight 36 kg (79 lb).

According to Greensound Technology, their latest inventions can perfectly fit in hotel rooms, small suites, homes and even yachts.

The Cube subwoofer that comes with the speakers measures 45.7 x 45.7 x 20 cm (18 x 18 x 8 in) and weighs 18 kg (39.6 lb), which makes it even more compact.

Customers can also choose LED lighting for the speakers. Besides, digital transmitters connected to an amplifier's speaker output work wirelessly at 5 GHz, which eliminates the need of using wires. At the same time it would be worth mentioning that the speakers will still have to be plugged into a power outlet.

The Luno speakers produce 70 watts and boast a frequency response from 60 Hz to 17 kHz. The subwoofer produces 125 watts and has a frequency response of 30 Hz to 180 Hz.

Currently the company did not provide information on the price. However, according to the company's European site the speakers will hit the market this month.
