Latest Invention: Washstand Equipped with Android in Its Mirror

Seraku, a tech company from the land of the rising sun, has unveiled at the Smartphone & Mobile Expo its latest invention - a washstand equipped with Android in the mirror.

Due to the fact that fingers leave spots on mirrors, the company incorporated a sensor in its washstand. Thus users can operate the Android widgets in the mirror without touching the glass. The sensor remains unnoticed because it is located in the mirror.

With its help user are able to document their facial appearance and weight on a daily basis. This is because the washstand is linked to a camera and a scale.

Currently the Japanese firm is looking for ways to use this feature in healthcare. Besides, because the mirror catches the user's eyes, the technology could be used as digital signage.

On the back of the device a monitor is connected. The monitor in its turn is linked to the Android board, while the latter in connected to the Internet.

So far Seraku's invention makes use of a wired LAN, but it can also use wireless LAN and 3G.

In the near future, the company plans to launch its product onto the market. Its price is expected to be around 4-5 million yen (about $60,000). Seraku is also planning to create a rental business model.
