Every parent wants all the best for their child. Those who think that their kid is into science will definitely like the invention called Zoomy.

Today traditional microscopes are rather pricey and somewhat difficult for children to use. This is where Zoomy Handheld Digital Microscope comes into action. The device represents a simple gadget that plugs into the USB port of a computer.

By placing the microscope over a certain object, children can closely examine it, with the image of the object appearing on the monitor.

Having the shape of an egg, Zoomy can magnify objects by 35 to 53X, and by using a VGA CMOS sensor it is able to capture images at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.

In addition, the device provides illumination with the help of 4 LEDs. There is no need to buy batteries since power is delivered via a USB cable connected to the computer.

Zoomy also comes with 2 interchangeable head adapters that keep the device a set distance above the target object. The two adapters have different lengths, so they can be used for objects of different sizes.

In order to study a leaf or a bug the user simply has to push the button found on top of the device.

It is worth mentioning that Zoomy Handheld Digital Microscope was developed by Learning Resources.
