Low-Cost UAV Able to Shoot HD Video

Together with his Berlin-based firm Kippenberger Racing, Christopher Kippenberger managed to come up with a customized drone that can stay in the air and shoot HD video.

The small quadrocopter wears a price tag of $5,000 and can be actually ordered from the production company. Such price for an UAV is very low compared to other similar devices found on the market.

The vehicle developed by Christopher Kippenberger and the team features GPS and routing software, but the main control are handled by two people: one controls the flight of the drone while the other manages the camera mounted on the device.

In case the signal between the control panel and the UAV is lost, the quadrocopter automatically switches over to GPS and can then perform a safe landing.

The vehicle is composed of GAUI GU-INS flight controller, carbon fiber blades and custom camera mount that allows you to install nearly any type of camera. In addition, the quadrocopter is powered by lithium-ion battery packs.
