MyFord Touch System Allows Ford Drivers to Save More Fuel

Share

This Summer Ford looks forward to launch its new model dubbed 2011 Ford Edge and the company decided to equip its vehicle with MyFord Touch<,strong> system, which, with the help of a function called Eco-Route, will help the driver choose more fuel-efficient routes.

It is worth mentioning that MyFord Touch will be also mounted on the upcoming 2012 Ford Focus. The new system will make use of historic and real-time data to estimate the shortest and thus more fuel-efficient way to the selected destination.

There's a bar chart located next to the fuel display. The chart illustrates the real-time fuel economy performance and the average distances for the past 5, 10, and 30 minutes.

It would be interesting to note that Ford has another high-tech tool similar to MyFord Touch installed on its Ford Fusion Hybrid and called EcoGauge, which shows the average mpg along with an animation displaying a plant that grows leaves when fuel efficiency is up.
