The Dutch company Shapeways has recently purchased a new selective laser sintering machine that can create various things that are twice the size of what previous 3D printers were able to pop out.

The device works by printing different objects layer by layer. It can create things that are about 28 inches wide, 23 inches tall and 15 inches deep.

It would be interesting to note that such 3D printer can help architects create full 3D models very quickly, thus eliminating the need to do everything by hand.

The main disadvantage is that the resolution is somewhat lower compared to more compact devices, informs FastCoDesign. However, you will lose just about a fraction of a millimeter, which means that the outcome will be almost the same.
