Nike Trainers that Work as Wii Controllers

Share

Nick Marsh, a British illustrator, managed to make his trainers work as Wii controllers.

"Gaming platforms have made it possible for people to get their own personal sports workout from the comfort of their living room, using hand held controllers and a balance board to participate," said Marsh, which is why he decided to hack a pair of Nikes to function in the same way.

It is worth mentioning that the illustrator contributed his trainers as part of an art project called Nike 78 and initiated by graphic designer Paul Jenkins. The latter had a raft of artists that reinterpreted the famous athletic sneaker.

The whole footwear series, which boasts a pair of knitted cashmere-merino trainers, metal-coated GalvaNikes, and even edible buttercream running shoes (with raspberry laces), is going to be unveiled to the public at the London Design Festival this September, reports Ecouterre.
