Old Telephone Booths in NYC Turned into Wi-Fi Hotspots

Today cell phones play an important role in our everyday lives and though they've become ubiquitous there are still places where telephone booths can be found.
An interesting idea has been brought to life in New York City where old rotting payphones have been transformed into nice Wi-Fi spots.
It s worth mentioning that the transformation of phone booths into places where people can get wireless Internet connection is part of a pilot program.
During the program it is expected that payphones from 10 locations in 3 of the city's five boroughs will be turned into Wi-Fi hotspots that will offer free Internet access 24/7 and up to 200 feet of the booth.
