Orbit - Levitating Washing Machine Designed for 2050

Check out this concept of a futuristic washing machine developed for the year 2050. The washing machine floats in mid air and most importantly it does not require any water.

Elie Ahovi named the concept Orbit. The construction consists of a sphere that levitates within a ring with the help of superconducting electromagnets. The latter are cooled by liquid nitrogen.

When in the air, the machine can efficiently spin and agitate without making noise and without generating any vibration.

Jets of carbon dioxide inside the sphere are used to cryogenically clean your garments without using soap and water. It is worth mentioning that every process is controlled via a slick touchscreen interface.
