Panasonic's Evolta Robot Trio Finishes Its Triathlon in Hawaii


In September we wrote about three Panasonic's Evolta robots that were getting ready for a 230 kilometer (142.9 mile) triathlon in Hawaii and now its time to announce that all three managed to come to the finish line with a better timing than their developers expected.

The small robots finished their most difficult challenge in just 166 hours. It should be noted that the Evolta World Challenge IV started at 12:00pm on October 23, 2011. The trio, which consisted of Evolta Swim Robot, Evolta Bike Robot and Evolta Run Robot, completed their task at 10:56am on October 30, 2011.

The swimming robot managed to complete its 3.8-kilometer challenge in 5 hours and 36 minutes, the bike riding robots finished its 180.2-kilometer task in 97 hours and 42 minutes and the running robot in 63 hours and 38 minutes was able to cross 42.2 kilometers.

The initial goal of the developers was 168 hours, but the three robots managed to show a result that read 166 hours and 56 minutes.
