Printer Erases and Reprints on Plastic Paper. No Ink Cartridges

Share

A Japanese company called Sanwa Newtec unveiled its new printer - "PrePeat." The interesting thing about this printer is that it prints on sheets made of heat-sensitive polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which allows PrePeat to erase and then reprint necessary information on the same page.

One sheet can be reused up to 1,000 times and there is no need for ink cartridges. This device can become a hit only if the manufacturer does something about its price - this device is available for 500,000 yen, which is about $5,517.

In addition, the special plastic sheets are available in lots of 1,000 and one lot is priced at $3,300.
