Refuge Finder System to Help Locate People During Disasters

Each year natural calamities take the lives of a large number of people and separate them from their friends and families. After the disasters people start looking for safe refuge.

In order to address the problem, Pedro Nakazato Andrade, a designer from Denmark, invented a mobile application dubbed "Refuge Finder." Using a mobile camera, the program allows registering disaster victims who established themselves at aid stations, hospitals Red Cross centers, and other safer locations.

The brief biographical data, along with a picture of a person and the place and time of registration is transmitted by the system to other aid centers and is then displayed publicly. The information can also be broadcasted on television and/or published on the Internet. Make sure to watch the video below to see how the hi-tech system works.
