Steve Jobs Dies


The co-founder of one of the biggest tech companies in the world has died. Apple's Steve Jobs passed away this Wednesday, he was 56 years old and has been struggling with a rare form of pancreatic cancer for several years.

His company announced about Jobs' death on Wednesday night but did not state any specific cause.

Steve Jobs, who has given the world such innovations as the iPhone and iPod, resigned as Apple's Chief Executive in August of 2011, with Tim Cook taking his place.

Apple issued a short statement that read: "We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

Some time later, Jobs' family issued a statement in which they said that the icon of the Silicon Valley died peacefully, being surrounded by the family.

The statement also read: "In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve's illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories. We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief".

The President of the United States Barack Obama named Steve Jobs a visionary great innovator and the co-founder of the software giant Microsoft, Bill Gates, said that Jobs was a competitor and a friend.

Born February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, Steven Paul Jobs was the son of Joanne Simpson and Abdulfattah Jandali, a student from Syria. Simpson later gave the child up for adoption, but later married Jandali and gave birth to Mona Simpson, who later became a novelist. Steve was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs from Mountain View, California. They named him Steven Paul.
