Teens Still Rate Sony and Nokia as the Best

The attitudes of youngsters towards the most popular tech brands are analyzed each year by The Global Habbo Youth survey, which this year once again turned to teenagers to find how they feel about such major brands as Sony, Apple, Nintendo, Microsoft and Nokia.

The survey involved the participation of 112,000 youngsters aged between 11 and 19 across 30 countries. This year the number one consumer electronic brand was Sony, followed by Apple, then Nintendo, Samsung and Hewlett-Packard.

In the gaming field the number one position among console brands is still maintained by PlayStation. However, in regard to console preferences Nintendo Wii proved to be the overall winner. Interestingly enough, the gaming console from Nintendo was popular mostly among girls, with boys preferring Microsoft's Xbox 360.

The survey also analyzed teen's attitude toward mobile phone brands. The number one spot is still kept by the Swedish giant Nokia. However, it looks like the Swedish brand is loosing its grip, since its popularity decreased by 8 percent compared to 2008, registering a figure of 21 percent. The silver medalist in this field was Sony Ericsson, which was followed by Samsung, LG and Apple. Motorola registered the biggest slump, being number three last year and falling from the top 10 in 2009.
