The Light Catcher - Battery that Recharges Using Solar Energy

The Light Catcher is a smart design concept developed for the 2011 IF concept design entry.

The authors of the concept are Yung-Hsaing Chang, Ming-Shien Lin and Chang-Ting Lu.

The device mainly represents a simple photoelectric battery with a see-though body.

The surface of the battery is covered with an anti-reflective array of tiny solar cells. When the battery runs out of energy, it can be refilled using sunlight.

It is worth mentioning that the Light Catcher comes in AA and AAA sizes and can be used to power small devices by using a standard 3.5mm jack.
