Two-Legged Robot that Could Help Build Sites

Japanese researchers from the Chiba Institute of Technology managed to create a 6ft2in tall robot that can carry a payload of up to 15 stone.

Dubbed Core, the machine mainly consists of a pair of legs that can bend and move around.

The two legs are connected to a platform that can help one carry a weight of up to 100 kilograms.

The device features shock absorbers and weights around 36 stone (228.6 kilogram).

So far the machine represents just a prototype. However, its creators believe that the machine could one day help build sites or help people with certain physical disabilities, reports DailyMail.

There has also been information that the Core could be used by the military. Japanese researchers look forward to completing their work by 2012.
