YEE - the Flying Vehicle from Chinese Designers

The YEE is a concept car designed by a team of students from the South China University of Technology (SCUT). This vehicle recently won the Gold Award for Best Creative Future at the First International Concept Car Design Contest that took place in Beijing.

The car, designed by the three design students, Pan Jiazhi, Zhu Wenxi and Lai Zexin, has two modes. When it is set in driving mode, its wings fold downwards, with small wheels located along the outside edges of the wings allowing them to play the role of outriggers. The car leans on the left and right when the driver turns the vehicle.

If the driver turns the car into the flying mode, the two back wheels move forward so their spokes being used as propeller blades.

The flying vehicle will take off from specially designed flying stations equipped with solar panels so the cars could recharge the onboard batteries.
