I listen to both Lil Wayne And Beethoven Regularly and i love both types of music. So am i stupid or smart? I like listening to lotsa different types of music because i have an open mind. Unlike me, most teenagers don't have Beethoven and Tchaikovsky on their Ipod though...

You're right that correlation does not equal causation, however, there was nothing in the article mentioning causation.

It merely states that smart kids like Beethoven and dumb kids like Lil' Wayne.

I think there's a confounding variable at play here. Beethoven isn't necessarily causally responsible for higher SAT scores--more likely this reflects the fact that those who are more likely to study and hire tutors and retake the SAT several times are also those who would place a higher value on listening to classical music.

in addition to being rudely written, this study has many holes. first of all, it looks at emotional intelligence rather than general IQ. secondly, the wording of the questions was ambiguous, using words like frequently and overall. third, they only sampled 2000 or so people. it's been making the rounds suggesting that women who don't enjoy sex for whatever reason may be unintelligent, which is a nasty nasty thing.

The problem of smart people is that they have too much theoretical knowledge which bases upon definite rules. So when they get into a difficult situation they try to behave according to certain rules which sometimes don't even exist. In this case those people whose IQ is lower are more flexible which gives them the possibility to react quicker and to risk. It's impossible to teach someone to become rich. You either have in blood or not.

I had to get glasses when i was 17 years old but hated wearing them. When I moved out my parents house at 19 years old i threw them out. Now I am 32 years old and live in boyfriend noticed I was straining to see and he made an appointment to go to the eye doctor. I was horrfied when the doctor my eyes were bad i should wear them all the time except for reading. My boyfriend made me wear them all the time (I won't have if he didn't live with me). Any after about a month, I started liking wearing glasses. People thought I looked better in glasses, my boyfriend thought I looked sexier in glasses. I also noticed people took me more seriously and more intelligent. So I changed from a glasses hater to person who loves wearing glasses. I love the way I way I look in glasses, I feel sexier and people treat me more intelligently.
