As someone living in Japan right now, I can tell you that the iPhone is far beyond anything they have here. People here rarely buy smartphones, and the browsers on the 3G phones leave much to be desired.

Perhaps the sale of iPhones will increase peoples exposure to Apple as well, it would be nice to see some more variety. I can hardly talk people out of using internet explorer, much less switch to a different operating system.

I don't envy Japanese women. If it goes that way Japan may turn into a country with the greatest number of old women. It doesn't sound so promising. By the way such problems exist in Europe as well. Women want to succeed in life and don't hurry to have family and kids.This tendency to independence is good, but it estranges us from our true destination.
