Latest invention in science

Speaking about the latest invention in science, one of the particular interest is mission-critical control software to be used during future European robotic space missions. The software is being developed by an international engineers' team. Dr. Declan Bates who works as a senior lecturer in the University of Leicester Department of Engineering is a member of an international consortium that received 250K Euro from the European Space Agency. The funds are to be spent for the development of innovative verification and validation techniques to be applied by the next-generation satellite systems.

Dr. Bates heads a researchers' team from the Control and Instrumentation Research Group. The team has started the work on a two-year project with an aim to develop the mission-critical control software to offer greatly improve reliability.
