Latest medical inventions

Among the latest medical inventions, it is worth pointing out a new diagnostic tool for arthritis. A lot of people suffer from the joint pain caused by the most common form of arthritis. Till the recent time, doctors were able to diagnose the disease only at advanced stages, following serious joint damage and severe symptoms.

The researchers from Tel Aviv University and New York University have developed a one-of-a-kind application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology, offering a non-invasive diagnosis of osteoarthritis at early stages. The new tests results, available at the same price as a common MRI, could be read within one day. An early diagnosis of arthritis is crucial, especially for athletes and elderly people. While commonly used MRIs suggest nothing about a mild pain in the joints after jogging, the new diagnostic tool allows to detect the very first signs of arthritis, so doctors are able to treat the patient through the most appropriate intervention methods.
