aMAZEme - Giant Maze Consisting of 250,000 Books

Share

July 26th is the day when two Brazilian artists are expected to start building a huge book maze.

Marcos Saboya and Gualter Pupo plan to build their maze in the Clore Ballroom at London's Southbank Centre.

It would be interesting to note that the maze will expand over an area of over 5,000 square feet and will consist from not less than 250,000 books.

The walls of the maze will be 13 feet tall and the two artists expect to get help from the public.

Saboya and Pupo decided to make the maze after being inspired by the famous Argentinean writer Jorge Luis Borges, who was passionate about both libraries and labyrinths.

Dubbed aMAZEme, the structure will be part of the 12-week London 2012 Festival. The festival will showcase artists from around the globe in combination with the 2012 Summer Olympics.
