Brazilian Ad Encourages Peeing in the Shower to Save Water
Brazil has recently launched a TV advertisement that encourages people to pee in the showed in order to save water. The ad is part of a campaign launched by SOS Mata Atlantica, an environmental group from Brasilia.
According to SOS Mata Atlantica, the ad is running on several TV stations in the country. The video uses humor and is meant to persuade people to save water by limiting the number of flushes. It was calculated that if a household in Brazil avoids at least one flush a day, it would save about 4,380 liters each year. There's more offbeat news here at www.InfoNIAC.com, check the links at the bottom of the article.
Adriana Kfouri, the group's spokeswoman, mentioned that the idea was to create a good-humored video that would focus on a serious issue. In the video you can see cartoon drawings of different people and creatures urinating in the shower. At the end of the ad it says "Pee in the shower! Save the Atlantic rainforest!"
